In this video we are going to walk through setting up a brand new Etsy account and making sure we do it in a way that doesn't get flagged by Etsy.
You might have heard some users are getting suspended or banned by Etsy, it's mostly because they are entering the wrong information when setting up their account and it confuses Etsy. Keep things as straightforward as possible.
A few things to keep in mind to avoid getting banned:
- Start with a brand new account. Create an account with an email address that has NOT been associated with Etsy before.
- When creating a product. Make sure you add a Production Partner. Here are the Steps for Printify. Follow the same steps for whichever POD provider you use, just swap out the provider's name. THIS DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY HAPPEN WHEN YOU CONNECT THE POD PROVIDER TO ETSY. YOU MUST DO THIS.
- Your business information MUST be entered in so that it matches the IRS and your state. If you moved or something recently changed, enter what the IRS has and then change it AFTER you get verified by Etsy.
- Use your LLC, not your DBA. (If you have one) Your DBA can be your store name.
- Your business name MUST match the name on your bank account.
As long as you enter your information accurately, you should be good to go.
